Parsippany is in the center of Northern New Jersey and New Jersey is known as the crossroads of the American Revolution. It is to the American Revolution what Virginia is to the Civil War.

Washington's headquarters is in nearby Morristown, Mine Hill and Dover supplied the iron and mills to make cannons and the chain that was accros the Hudson, and closeby mines supplied the materials for ammunition.
